Dublin Airport’s spacious new Pier D boarding gate facility is now open, offering passengers a transformed travel experience. Pier D has 12 new boarding gates and brings a major improvement in the quality of facilities at Dublin Airport. The new boarding gates are being delivered on a phased basis and the first six gates are now operational. Pier D can handle up to 10 million passengers per year in a bright, airy and ultra-modern environment. This new 15,000 sq m departures area, which opened on 28 October 2007, is a €120m investment in better passenger facilities and is part of the DAA's €2bn Transforming Dublin Airport programme. Pier D has parking for up to 14 aircraft and will be used mainly by
fast turnaround short-haul services to Britain and continental Europe.
