Welcome to the Community Affairs Section of the Dublin Airport website. At the DAA we have a strong commitment to the communities around our Airport and aim to work closely and actively with our local communities.
Using the links below you will be able to find specific information of interest to local communities, including a downloadable copy of our latest newsletter, information on Noise Monitoring and access to our onine Noise Complaints Form.
Community Sponsorship
DAA has, for many years, been closely involved with various community projects and local sporting clubs in the Fingal area. The DAA is particularly proud to continue its long association with St Margaret's GAA Club and Naomh Mearnog GAA Club, Portmarnock, in supporting their sponsorship for 2009. We are also delighted to announce a new 2009 sponsorship programme with St Sylvester's GAA Club, Malahide.
Local Schools Project
DAA works closely with many schools in the Fingal area. Once such project was
the introduction of a Sensory Garden at St Cronan's National School, Swords in
Autumn 2008. This project involved the development of a new garden that would be
a source of learning, fun and therapeutic care to the children of the school.
The garden was designed with the help of the Dublin Airport Gardening and
Carpenters sections and features a vegetable section to teach children about
healthy eating and a sensory theme encouraging children to enjoy the different
textures, smells and colours of Mother Nature. It is hoped the garden will be of
particular benefit to children in the Autistic Spectrum Disorder Unit that is
located in the school.
Young Musician of the
Year
DAA has a long association with the Young Musician of the Year programme. In particular DAA (Aer Rianta) has enjoyed a 29 year relationship with the Malahide Young Musician and 22 years with the Swords Young Musician of the Year Competitions, which are aimed at encouraging young people to achieve their own potential and to enjoy making music. Since its inception, contestants of the Young Musician of the Year Competitions have progressed to develop successful careers in their chosen musical talent.
