More than 1.6 million passengers travel through
Dublin Airport in February

Passenger throughput at Dublin Airport exceeded 1.6 million in February, a 7% increase over the same month last year according to the Dublin Airport Authority.
 
This growth in passenger numbers represented an extra 109,000 passengers or an average of over 3,700 ADDITIONAL passengers every day during the month of February alone. The leap year day on 29th February contributed an extra 60,000 passengers.
 
Passenger volumes to/from continental Europe rose by 7% with more than 750,000 passengers travelling to European destinations last month.
 
UK traffic grew by over 3% with more than 670,000 passengers travelling this route sector.
 
The number of passengers travelling on domestic routes rose by 10% to over 72,000 passengers while passenger volumes to/from North America represented the biggest increase of 33% to with over 90,000 passengers travelling State side in February.
 
Other international passenger traffic to the Middle-East (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), northern Africa (Sharm El Sheik) and South Africa(Capetown) rose by 20% with more than 22,000 passengers travelling to those destinations.
