More than 95 Airport Fire Chiefs from UK and European
Airports will gather in the Radisson SAS Hotel at Dublin Airport on 23 January
for a two day conference hosted by the Dublin Airport Authority's Chief Airport
Fire Officer Gerry Keogh.
The two-day meeting of minds from the
world of aviation fire and rescue will cover many important subjects in the area
of fire and aircraft rescue such as new technology, training practices, recovery
of aircraft and examination of specific aircraft evacuation and recovery
scenarios.
"The theme for this years conference is Emergency
Planning. With the skies becoming more and more busy it is critical that
passengers have confidence in the emergency and rescue services that all
airports provide," said DAA's Chief Airport Fire Officer and conference host
Gerry Keogh. "As aircraft get bigger and more sophisticated, the importance of
keeping abreast of the latest fire and rescue technology, together with sharing
of airport experiences in the area of aircraft rescue and recovery, cannot be
over stated," concluded the Airport Fire Chief.
