OCTOBER BANK HOLIDAY ADVICE FOR PASSENGERS TRAVELLING FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT
More than 250,000 passengers are expected to travel
through Dublin Airport this Bank Holiday Weekend from Friday 23rd to Monday 26th
October 2009.
Over 1,700 flights will arrive and depart
during this period including 50 charter flights, mainly to sun destinations such
as Canary Islands and mainland Spain.
Passengers are advised to be in the terminal building at
least 90 minutes before their flight departure time irrespective of whether they
are checking in at the airport or have checked in on-line. A further 30
minutes should be factored in if passengers are using one of the long-term car
parks.
Passengers are also advised to prepare for security screening in
advance by removing laptops from cases, belts, outer jackets and sharp objects
from hand luggage. Information regarding EU Aviation Security regulations
concerning liquids are available on www.dublinairport.com and passengers are advised to
familiarise themselves with these BEFORE setting out on their journey to the
airport.
Additional staff will be on duty in key operational areas
throughout the busy weekend as well as our Customer Care teams who are here to
help smooth the way for passengers and to offer advice on preparation for security including EU security restriction concerning
liquids.
Ends
22nd October, 2009
