At The Airport

Award from The Irish Heart Foundation

The Dublin Airport Police & Fire Service (APFS) members have received an award from The Irish Heart Foundation in recognition for their success rate in saving victims of cardiac arrest at the Airport with the use of Public Access Defibrillation.

Michael O’Shea, Chief Executive of the Irish Heart Foundation has commended the members of the APFS for their achievement.
“We are delighted to present the Heartsafe award to the Dublin Airport Police and Fire Service. We believe this award is a significant achievement and it is testament to the great work and dedication of all involved in this group”.

The APFS currently have 124 trained responders in the programme who are all members of the Fire Service. During that time they had 14 saves – a fantastic record. The performance of the AFPS is living proof that the Chain of Survival works and their track record shows how vital it is for all communities. It is our hope that many more companies will follow in their footsteps and apply to become Heartsafe.”
