At The Airport

New Bus Park Ready For Use

A new dedicated bus and coach park is now ready for use behind the existing multi-storey car park at Dublin Airport. The €3m construction project has created a new dedicated location for buses and coaches that will help improve the passenger experience at Dublin Airport. The project includes new kerbs, bus shelters and covered walkways, all of which are located behind the existing multi-storey.

The work on the new bus and coach park was undertaken at the same time as a major revamp of the short-term car parking facilities at Dublin Airport. The new car park management system, which opened just before Christmas, means that the current central ticketing point for short-term, which was close to the Airport Police checkpoint at Corballis House is now redundant. This is because the new management system means that all customers take a ticket as they enter block A, B or C. There is also now a separate entrance to a surface short-term car park, east of the old central ticketing point.
Barriers have been placed at the entrance and exit to each block and all parking charges must be paid before reaching the barrier.

Placing barriers at the entrance and exit of each block means that the area behind the multi-storey can be opened up for buses, coaches and other traffic.

The changes to short-term car parking and the construction of the new bus park will have an impact on the traffic flow around the airport and as part of this project the DAA has decided to install traffic lights at the roundabout at the junction of Corballis Rd North and the Westlink Rd. Changes have already been made to the traffic flow at the roundabout.

More than 700 buses per day use Dublin Airport and moving the bulk of them away from the arrivals road will ease congestion in this area.
