If you are departing from Dublin Airport the following tips will make your journey through the Airport more comfortable and stress-free...
Aim to check-in at least 90 minutes before your flight departure time and factor in a further 30-40 minutes if availing of long-term car parking. Please DO NOT arrive at Dublin Airport hours before your flight departure time as your airline check-in desk will not be open. Check-in desks open two hours in advance of flight departure times and your airline or handling agent is responsible for checking you in.
The Dublin Airport Authority is responsible for the Passenger Security Screening Area. In most cases there will be little or no queuing at the Passenger Security Screening Area. During absolute peak times, for example between 05.00-07.30, there may be queuing for 15-20 minutes.
Remember to remove all sharp objects from your hand baggage and place in checked in baggage. This will ensure a smoother and more efficient journey through the Passenger Security Screening Area.
There are NO restrictions whatsoever on hand baggage on flights to the UK, Europe or Charter destinations.
SOME hand baggage restrictions are in place on direct flights from Dublin to the United States. These hand baggage restrictions vary slightly from airline to airline and passengers are advised to check with their individual airline BEFORE coming to Dublin Airport. It may be useful to check airline websites to see what restrictions, if any, apply.
