Tá rún daingean ag Údarás Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath (ÚABÁC) go mbeidh teacht ar an aerfort ag daoine a bhfuil gluaiseacht laghdaithe acu. Faoi láthair is iad na haerlínte atá freagrach as cúnamh a thabhairt do dhaoine a bhfuil gluaiseacht laghdaithe acu, cé go gcuireann an t-aerfort bonneagar ar fáil a ligeann do phaisinéirí dul tríd an críochfort go dtí an eitleán trí leas a bhaint as ardaitheoirí agus rampaí.
Má tá áiseanna speisialta/cúnamh uathu, ba chóir do phaisinéirí i mbun taistil a bhfuil gluaiseacht laghdaithe acu é sin a chur in iúl don aerlíne nó don ghníomhaí taistil agus áit á cur in áirithint acu. Cuireann roinnt aerlínte cúnamh ar fáil do dhaoine i gcathaoireacha rothaí mar chuid dá seirbhís láimhseála paisinéirí. Déanann aerlínte eile an tseirbhís seo a fhoinsiú ó Fernley Limited, comhlacht neamhspleách a sholáthraíonn seirbhísí éagsúla tacaíochta ar iarratas.
Cuidíonn Fernley le paisinéirí dul go dtí an eitleán agus teacht uaidh agus trealamh speisialta á úsáid acu le gluaiseacht shábháilte agus chompordach na bpaisinéirí a chinntiú. Fáiltíonn ÚABÁC roimh tuairimí faoi leibhéil na seirbhíse a chuirtear ar fáil agus cinnteoidh sé go dtabharfar an t-aiseolas a fhaightear do na páirtithe ábhartha.
Ó 2007 i leith, áfach, faoi reachtaíocht nua an AE, is iad údaráis an aerfoirt a bheidh freagrach as cúnamh a thabhairt do dhaoine a bhfuil gluaiseacht laghdaithe acu.
Is í aidhm Údarás
Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath, de réir cuspóirí na Roinne Iompair, "nár mhór do sholáthraithe iompair paisinéirí an leibheál is airde inrochtaine a chur ar fáil faoi réir na n-acmhainní agus na tosaíochtaí iomaíocha atá acu agus faoi réir rialacha na hindéantachta freisin."
Bhunaigh ÚABÁC Grúpa Úsáideoirí do dhaoine faoi mhíchumas, a bhfuil ionadaithe air ó réimse leathan eagraíochtaí a fhreastalaíonn ar dhaoine a bhfuil míchumais ar leith acu. Páirteach sa Ghrúpa Úsáideoirí tá na heagraíochtaí Irish Hard of Hearing Association, Irish Wheelchair Association, An Chomhairle Náisiúnta um Aosú agus Daoine Aosta, Inclusion Ireland, National Association for Deaf People, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind agus People with Disabilities in Ireland.
Tá sé mar aidhm againn agus an grúpa seo a bhunú a chinntiú go gcuirfear aon socruithe maidir le forbairtí sa todhchaí a chur in iúl go hiomlán do na daoine nó do na grúpaí a bhfuil riachtanais sainiúla acu. Cuireann Údarás Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath na háiseanna a leanas ar fáil (a ndéantar monatóireacht orthu go leanúnach) do dhaoine a bhfuil gluaiseacht laghdaithe acu:
Eagraíocht a thugann tús áite do sheirbhís dá chustaiméirí is ea Údarás Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath. Má theastaíonn aon chúnamh uait ag an Aerfort, téigh i dteagmháil lenár nGníomhaithe um Chaidreamh le Custaiméirí nó aon bhall den fhoireann atá ar fáil.
The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is dedicated to providing accessibility
for people with reduced mobility. Currently, the provision of assistance
for people with reduced mobility is the responsibility of the airlines, though
the airport provides the infrastructure that enables passenger access through
the terminal to the aircraft by means of lifts and ramps.
When
travelling, passengers with reduced mobility should notify their airline or
travel agent directly when booking, if special facilities/assistance are
required. Some airlines provide wheelchair assistance as part of their
passenger handling service. Other airlines outsource this service to
Fernley Limited, an independent company providing various support services on
request.
Fernley provide passenger assistance to
and from the aircraft using specialised equipment to ensure the safe and
comfortable movement of passengers.
Fernley can be contacted at the airport on
+353 1 814 5505
+353 1 814 4938
or +353 87 0516752.
The DAA welcomes any comments on the levels of service provided and will ensure that the feedback received will be passed on to the relevant bodies.
From July 2008, under new EU Legislation, the airport authorities will be
responsible for the provision of assistance for people with reduced
mobility. In line with the Department of Transport's objectives, it is the
aim of the Dublin Airport Authority, "that all passenger transport providers
should provide the highest possible degree of accessibility, subject to
available resources and competing priorities and rules of practicality."
The DAA has set up a Disability Users Group made up of representatives from a
broad range of organisations catering for individuals with specific
disabilities. Our aim in establishing this group is to ensure that any
decisions relating to future developments are fully communicated to those people
or groups with specific needs.
The Dublin Airport Authority provides the
following facilities (which are continuously monitored) for passengers with
reduced mobility:
Specially reserved easy access car parking spaces are available on the ground
level of the multi-storey car parks (Blocks A & B) for both long-term and
short-term stays. The spaces are linked to car park control by an intercom
system. Reduced parking rates apply for long-term stays.
The Dublin Airport Authority is a customer service-oriented organisation. Should you need any assistance at the Airport, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Relations Agents or any available staff member. You can also contact our Customer Relations Department on +353 1 814 4717.
