1.8 million passengers facilitated at Dublin Airport in April '07

More than 1.8 million passengers travelled through Dublin
Airport during the month of April, a 9% increase over the same period last year,
according to figures released by the
Dublin Airport Authority.
Passenger traffic to/from continental Europe rose by 19% with over 930,000
passengers travelling in April.
UK traffic remained static in April with over 735,000 passengers travelling
this route sector.
Over 68,000 passengers travelled on domestic routes to/from Dublin Airport, a
7% increase over the same month last year while passenger volumes to/from North
America rose by 1% with almost 100,000 passengers travelling State side in April
alone.
Other international passenger traffic to the Middle-East (Dubai and Bahrain),
northern Africa (Sharm El Sheik) and South Africa(Capetown) rose by 26% with
more than 16,000 passengers travelling to those destinations in April.
More than 8,000 transit passengers travelled through Dublin Airport to an
onward destination during the month of April.
Dublin Airport has facilitated over 6.6 million passengers from January to
April, a 13% increase over the same period last year.
More than 750,000 additional passengers have been handled at the airport
since the beginning of the year.
