October Bank Holiday at Dublin Airport

October 23 2008

More than 285,000 passengers are expected to travel through Dublin Airport this Bank Holiday Weekend from Friday 24th to Monday 27th October 2008.

Over 2,000 flights will arrive and depart during this period including 100 charter flights, mainly to sun destinations such as Canary Islands, mainland Spain, Turkey and Cyprus.

Dublin Airport would like to remind passengers about the EU Aviation Security regulations concerning liquids.  Passengers are urged to check the details of these regulations on BEFORE setting out on their journey to the airport.

Once again passengers are reminded to remove all sharp objects from hand luggage.  These objects should be packed into checked in luggage, in addition, all laptop computers must be removed from their outer casing for security screening.

Dublin Airport’s Customer Care teams will be working throughout the terminal building this bank holiday weekend.   Dressed in bright pink polo shirts they are here to help smooth the way for passengers travelling through the terminal building, they will also be on hand to give advice on EU liquid restrictions and they will be assisting airlines in managing their queues at check-in.

Passengers are advised to check-in at least 90 minutes BEFORE their flight departure time and to allow a further 30 minutes if they are using one of the long-term ca parks.
