Almost 1.6M Passengers In April At Dublin Airport

Just under 1.6 million passengers used Dublin Airport in April, a 1% increase on the same period last year.

Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe increased by 3% with more than 850,000 people travelling to European destinations during April. UK traffic declined by 3% with more than 570,000 passengers travelling to and from Britain during the month.

Transatlantic passenger volumes increased by 2% with more than 120,000 passengers travelling to and from North America in April. Other international traffic, which principally covers routes to the Middle East and North Africa, increased by 68% with almost 36,000 passengers travelling on these services.

Domestic traffic declined by 62% with just under 5,000 passengers travelling on domestic routes in April.

More than 5.3 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport in the first four months of this year, a 1% decline on the same period in 2011.
