Dublin Airport’s food and beverage outlets have been nominated for five awards in a major international competition for travel food and beverage operations.
The annual Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Awards showcase the best outlets in international travel from throughout the world.
Dublin Airport’s award-winning Terminal 2 is one of nine airports competing for the World’s Best Airport Food & Beverage Award. The other airports shortlisted for this prestigious award are Incheon in South Korea, Singapore’s Changi Airport, Heathrow, Amsterdam Schiphol, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Budapest and Helsinki Vantaa.
The Slaney Bar in Terminal 2, which is operated by SSP, has been nominated in the Best Airport Bar category, while the Chocolate Lounge also in T2 is in the running for the Best Non-Alcoholic Airport Outlet. The Harvest Market restaurant in T2 has been short-listed for Best Airport Self Service Restaurant.
A nomination for Best Food and Beverage Concession Programme went to HMS Host International in T2.
The operators of two of Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 outlets received nominations for the quality of their offerings across multiple airport locations. SSP was nominated for its Caviar House and Prunier Seafood Bars and its Upper Crust outlets.
ARI Ireland Retail Director Paul Neeson said the nominations underlined the world class food and beverage offer now available at Dublin Airport. “We are delighted that Dublin Airport has received five nominations in the prestigious FAB awards and we’d like to congratulate our concession operators on being shortlisted”.
Neeson added that he was particularly pleased that Dublin Airport Terminal 2 had been nominated as one of best airport food and beverage locations in the world. “To have been nominated in this category is a huge endorsement of the quality of the food and beverage offer available at T2 both landside and airside”.
The winners of the awards, which are organised by the travel industry publication the The Moodie Report and its sister title The Foodie Report, will be announced later this month.
