Dublin Airport Toasts Success At International Food and Beverage Awards
Dublin Airport has won a prestigious international award for the quality of its restaurants and bars.
Dublin Airport won the prize at the annual Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Awards in Amsterdam, for having the world’s best airport bars and restaurants at an airport handling 10-25 million passengers per year. Dublin Airport won the award for the quality of the food and beverage outlets in its Terminal 2 (T2) facility.
The award for the world’s best food and beverage offer at an airport handling more than 25 million passengers went to London Heathrow, while Budapest Airport won the category for airports with less than 10 million passengers per year.
“This award is a major achievement for Dublin Airport and for the concessionaires who operate the restaurants and bars at the airport,” said Paul Neeson Retail Director of Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) subsidiary ARI Ireland which is responsible for retail at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports. “We have been working with our concessionaires to refine and improve the choice and value available to passengers in Terminal 2, and the many of the outlets in Terminal 1 are currently being upgraded to match the high standards that have been achieved in T2,” Mr Neeson added.
A number of restaurants and bars in Terminal 2 were also separately short-listed for FAB Awards in their own right. The Slaney Bar was nominated in the Best Airport Bar category, the Chocolate Lounge was nominated for the Best Non-Alcoholic Airport Outlet award, and Harvest Market was short-listed for Best Airport Self Service Restaurant. The awards were organised by The Moodie Report, which is a leading international travel retail magazine and website.
