Stade Francais team members arriving into Dublin Airport's Terminal 1 yesterday
Dublin Airport is preparing to welcome more than 30,000 French rugby supporters on scheduled and charter flights ahead of the Amlin and Heineken Cup Finals this weekend.
Over 100 additional French charter flights have been added to the normal schedule this weekend.
Dublin Airport is planning a big welcome for fans on arrival with blue, white and red coloured balloons in the arrivals hall of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 bearing the logos of all the teams playing this weekend. Mini goal posts at the exit doors, personalised welcome greetings on our screens in the arrivals halls in both terminals in French and English, and some French themed fun cut-outs have been placed in the terminals to welcome them to Ireland.
While Dublin Airport will have additional staff on duty this weekend passengers are reminded to:
• Arrive in the terminal building at least 90 minutes before their flight departure time irrespective of whether they are checking in on the web or at the airport.
• Check which terminal their flight is departing from BEFORE leaving home. As a general rule Aer Lingus, Aer Lingus Regional, Emirates, Etihad Airways and ALL the US carriers operate from Terminal 2 while all other airlines operate from Terminal 1.
• Adhere to the EU rules concerning the restrictions on liquids and prepare for Security screening by removing outer jacket, belt, shoes, coins, mobile phones and place in the tray provided. All laptop computers must be removed from their outer casing for security screening. All sharp objects should be packed into checked in luggage.
