More than 18.4 million passengers travel through Dublin Airport in first 9 months

Passenger throughput at Dublin Airport exceeded 18.4 million for the first 9 months of the year, a 2.8% increase over the same period last year according to the Dublin Airport Authority.
 
Passenger volumes to/from continental Europe grew by 2.6% with over 9.6 million passengers travelling to European destinations since the beginning of the year.
 
UK traffic remained static at just over 6.5 million passengers.
 
The number of passengers travelling on domestic routes declined by almost 2% to just over 670,000 passengers. Passenger volumes to/from North America grew by 22% with more than 1.3 million passengers travelling on this sector during the first 9 months.
 
Other international passenger traffic to the Middle-East (Abu Dhabi), Northern Africa (Sharm El Sheik) and South Africa(Capetown) rose by 14% with over 196,000 passengers travelling to those destinations.
