Plan Your Trip

Airport Security

Your safety and security is a priority for the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA).  Whenever you travel by plane you will be subjected to a number of strict security checks. These security checks are mainly related to what you are allowed to take with you on board the aircraft. Both your carry-on luggage and check-in baggage will be checked by means of detection equipment and may also be subject to a hand search. This is to ensure that you are not carrying any potentially dangerous substances or items that could pose a risk to the passengers and crew or to the security and safety of the aircraft.

Passengers are advised to carry just ONE piece of hand luggage. Sharp objects should be removed from carry-on luggage and placed in checked-in luggage.
Before departing for the Airport, please check your flight is on time and confirm what time your airline requires you to check in.  Dublin Airport recommends you arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your scheduled flight departs.  Please be patient if you have to queue at the check-in desks, security control, or at the boarding gate - the security checks we employ as you pass through the Airport ensure the safety of all our passengers. A dedicated passenger security channel operates for domestic Irish flights.

Prepare Before Security

Help us reduce the queues at security control by ensuring that you do not pack prohibited items in your carry-on luggage. Make sure you leave plenty of time after check-in for the security screening process.

Dublin Airport would like to thank all passengers for their cooperation with security procedures.
