Kennedy Family Gathering

Dublin Airport was delighted to welcome family members of former US President John F Kennedy ahead of the 50th anniversary of his visit to Ireland.  

An eternal flame taken from the Kennedy grave at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington was brought to Ireland by a colour party from the Irish Defence Forces and the Minister of State at the Department of Defence, Paul Kehoe.   

They were met at Dublin Airport by Minister of State for the Gaeltacht, Dinny McGinley, the Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces, Lt General Sean McCann and the charge d’affaires from the US embassy, John Hennessey-Niland.

Home Nations Touch Championships, Dublin 2013

Dublin Airport was delighted to support the Home Nations Touch Championships when over 1000 athletes and delegates arrived through Dublin Airport for the event hosted by the Ireland Touch Association.  Teams from the 6 member countries (England, Guernsey, Ireland, Jersey, Scotland and Wales) participated in the championships held at Albert College Park and Dublin City University from June 21-22.

European Athletics Team Championships 1st League

Over 650 top European athletes arrived into Dublin Airport ahead of the prestigious 2013 European Athletics Team Championship 1st League which took place in the Morton Stadium in Santry, Dublin.  The athletes from 12 European countries competed in 20 track and field disciplines during June 22-23.

Rose of Tralee Welcome Home Day

2012 Dublin Rose Arlene O’Neill and 13 other Rose of Tralee finalists delighted passengers in the arrivals hall at Dublin Airport by handing out roses and chocolates on June 14.
