What do I need to do when I arrive at my pre-booked car park?

Drive to your pre-booked car park. Stop at the entry barrier. The system will read your vehicle licence plate and once it matches the licence plate details provided in your online booking the barrier will automatically rise. In the event that the barrier does not rise, insert the same card you used to make your booking into the card slot in the entry terminal.

Please note that vehicle licence plates which do not comply with Vehicle Registration and Taxation (Amendment) Regulations, 1999 or DVLA(NI) or DVLA licence plate regulations may not be recognised.

32.

What happens if my car licence plate is not recognised at the entry or exit barrier of my pre-booked car park?

At the car park entry: If, following your arrival at your pre-booked car park entry, the barrier does not rise:

  • DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON FOR A TICKET.
  • Insert the same credit or Laser card used to make the original booking into the card slot in the entry terminal. The barrier will then rise.
  • Drive into the car park and follow signs to the parking zones.

At the car park exit: Although your licence plate may not have been recognised at the entry, it may still be recognised at the exit. However, if, following your arrival at the car park exit , the barrier does not rise:

  • Insert the same credit or Laser card used to make the online booking into the card slot in the exit terminal. The barrier will then rise.

In the event that you press the button upon entry to the car park, a ticket will be issued and the system will assume you have no pre-booked reservation. On your return to Dublin Airport and before returning to your car use this ticket to pay for your parking at any pay station.

Your pre-booking may still be charged to your card account. Queries in relation to your payment can be made in writing to: Car Parks Administration Manager, Dublin Airport, or via email to parkingdublin@daa.ie with the following detail enclosed:

  • Car registration number used to make the booking

The system will recognise your pre-booking up to two hours in advance of your expected time of arrival and up to 18 hours following your expected time of arrival.

For example, if you booked to arrive at 10am the system will recognise your booking and allow you to enter the car park at anytime between 8am on the pre-booked arrival day and 4am on the following day.

34.

What happens if I stay longer than I originally anticipated?

When you arrive at the car park exit barrier the car park system reads your licence plate, checks your pre-booking file and calculates the duration of your stay. If you have over-stayed the system establishes whether any additional fee is due. If an additional fee is due, you will be required to insert a credit or Laser card to pay the fee for the overstay.

Your credit/debit card will be charged the appropriate fee for the additional time based on the drive up tariff applicable on the date of your departure from the car park.

35.

What happens if I bring a different credit card to the card I used to make my booking online?

When you arrive at your pre-booked car park the primary identifier for your pre-booking is your licence plate. Should this fail for any reason insert the same credit or Laser card used to make the original booking into the card slot in the entry terminal. The barrier will then rise.

If you insert a different card to the one used to make the online booking the system will process this as a separate transaction. You will be allowed to enter the car park. However, at the exit barrier the second card will be charged the parking fee based on the then current drive up fee. Your pre-booked transaction will be treated as a 'no-show' and your pre-booking may still be charged to your card account. It is important therefore that you bring the same card used to make the booking.

Queries in relation to your payment can be made in writing to: Car Parks Administration Manager, Dublin Airport, or via email to parkingdublin@daa.ie with the following detail enclosed:

  • Booking reference number
  • Car park name
  • Arrival date & time
  • Departure date & time
  • Fee charged
  • Car registration number used to make the booking
  • Daytime telephone number
Please note that vehicle licence plates which do not comply with Vehicle Registration and Taxation (Amendment) Regulations, 1999 or DVLA(NI) or DVLA licence plate regulations may not be recognised.

36.

What happens if I bring a different car to the one identified when making my booking online?

In order to identify your booking the system depends on you using the car with the licence plate details provided when making the booking online. If you attempt to enter the pre-booked car park with a different car to that provided during the booking process the system will prompt you to insert a credit or Laser card or take a ticket. Do not press the button to request a ticket. You must insert the same credit or Laser card used to make the online booking and the system will then identify your booking and raise the barrier.

You are also required to enter the same credit/Laser card at the exit when leaving the car park.

37.

What happens if I forget my booking reference number?

Your booking reference number is only required if you want to review, amend or cancel your booking online before you travel. It is not required to enter or exit the car park.

38.

What happens if I lose my credit or Laser card when I'm away?

If your licence plate is not recognised you will be required to use the same credit or Laser card used to make the online booking.

If you need to use your credit or Laser card:
At car park entry: Ensure the card is inserted correctly into the slot provided in the entry terminal. Should the card still fail, press the button and take a ticket. On your return to Dublin Airport and before returning to your car use this ticket to pay for your parking at any pay station. Your pre-booking may still be charged to your card account.

What happens if I arrive at the entry to my pre-booked car park and a sign says that it's full?

Should this fail for any reason insert the same credit or Laser card used to make the original booking into the card slot in the entry terminal. The barrier will then rise.

Please note that vehicle licence plates which do not comply with Vehicle Registration and Taxation (Amendment) Regulations, 1999 or DVLA(NI) or DVLA licence plate regulations may not be recognised.
