Dublin Airport Supports Seachtain Na Gaeilge

Back to overview Tuesday 1 March 2016

Dublin Airport is supporting Seachtain Na Gaeilge by encouraging all staff to engage with passengers by speaking a cúpla focal as gaeilge.

“We are delighted to support Seachtain Na Gaeilge and we’re encouraging our customers and colleagues to get involved.  Fluency is not essential the aim is to use everyday Irish words and phrases in a fun and informal way which celebrates the Irish language,” said Dublin Airport Managing Director, Vincent Harrison.

Staff are encouraged to flex their ‘as gaeilge’ muscles throughout the event and will be assisted with visual aids and popular phrase translations.

Seachtain Na Gaeilge gives an opportunity to everyone to enjoy Irish, whether you are a fluent speaker, learner or have a cúpla focal, with a calendar of entertaining and fun events for every type of interest and every age group.

Seachtain na Gaeilge, which continues until March 17, is one of the biggest celebrations of Irish language and culture that takes place each year in Ireland and in many other countries.

Irish is for everyone, Seachtain na Gaeilge is for everyone, surprise yourself and give it a go.
