Dublin Airport Welcomes Calvin Klein Underwear Store
November 02 2009
The first Calvin Klein Underwear outlet in Ireland has opened in T1X in
another major addition to Dublin Airport’s status as a prestige shopping
location. It is also the first Calvin Klein Underwear stand-alone retail outlet
in any airport in the world.
The new store is the latest addition to the
upmarket Collezioni fashion shopping mall in T1X. It follows the recent opening
there of the prestigious fashion accessory outlet LK Bennett. Another top
international retail brand, Boggi Milano, specialising in classic Italian men’s
fashion, is scheduled to open under the Collezioni banner in T1X in
November.
The new Calvin Klein outlet offers passengers an extensive
range of contemporary men’s and women’s underwear with cutting-edge design and
innovative fabrics. DAA’s Retail Strategy Director Mark Banchansky said he was
very pleased with the opening of such a prestigious new fashion outlet. “The
opening of Calvin Klein adds to the other brands within our brand stable in
Dublin Airport. Along with LK Bennett, we also have Fat Face, Boots and Jo
Malone. Passengers now have a range of great brand names to choose from when
they’re flying out.”
The Collezioni airport fashion mall concept was
originated by McArthurGlen Luxury Division, which operates eighteen designer
outlet villages across the UK and continental Europe. Chairman Brian Collie said
Collezioni’s genuinely stylish and appealing blend of brands was ideally suited
to meet the needs of Dublin Airport’s passenger profile. He said
Collezioni provided an engaging high-end shopping experience that remained
wholly accessible to Dublin’s passengers. “For the Collezioni concept, our
operation at Dublin is a powerful reminder of the true potential for fashion
retailing at the airport and highlights the fact that we can enable any
commercial airport to develop its own unique adaptation of the Collezioni
concept.
"The wonderful new terminal at Dublin now has a uniquely
tailored fashion portfolio that will provide travellers with an exciting new
retail experience and help the airport to exploit exceptional new revenue
opportunities.”
