Dublin Airport increases car parking spaces for wheelchair passengers by 50%

July 03 2007

There are now over 50 dedicated parking spaces for wheelchair users located on the lower ground floor of Block B of the multi storey car park at Dublin Airport.

All spaces are clearly marked and meet the required specification for wheelchair passengers.

This upgraded facility was delivered as part an overall €10m investment in the re-development and refurbishment of the car park system at Dublin Airport.

A spokesperson for Dublin Airport said "We continuously strive to improve facilities at Dublin Airport for all passengers with reduced mobility and for wheelchair passengers in particular. The new car park area is easy to find and the doubling of car parking spaces means that there is availability at all times for passengers requiring this facility."

Passengers using the new car parking spaces for wheelchair use are charged the long-term car parking rate when parking for more than 3 hours. The long term parking rate is €8.50 per day. Customers should note that they are required to press the Information button denoted by the symbol iat the entrance barrier in order to gain access to the wheelchair car park.

A further 6 car park spaces are located in Block A of the multi storey car park.
