Over 1.5 Million Passengers In October At Dublin Airport

Passenger numbers at Dublin Airport exceeded 1.5 million in October, a 10% drop on the same month last year.

Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe fell by 9% with more than 800,000 people travelling to European destinations during the month.

UK traffic recorded an 8% decline with more than 580,000 passengers travelling to and from Britain in October.

Transatlantic volumes declined by 3.5% with 128,000 passengers travelling to and from North America during the month.

Other international passenger traffic, which includes flights to the Middle East, decreased by 18%; almost 22,000 passengers travelling this route sector in October.

Passenger numbers on domestic flights declined by 85% with almost 5,000 travelling on domestic routes during the month.

Year to date passenger traffic is up 2% overall with just over 16.2 million passengers travelling through the airport in the first ten months of the year.
