Archaeological Survey Works Have Commenced

Archaeological survey works have recently commenced on areas of land North and South of Barberstown Lane outside the Airfield Perimeter on the western site of North Runway. The works are being executed under licence by an expert team of Archaeologists.

The first phase of their investigations are scheduled to complete on 2 December. The works comprise of the excavation of a series of trenches and carefully sifting through the exposed sides exploring for historic artefacts. Nothing of interest has so far been discovered.
