Dublin Airport’s new North Runway is the most important project that Ireland will build in a generation. North Runway will further connect Ireland to the world, and will help position the country to compete globally in a post-Brexit environment. It will underpin the growth of Irish tourism, trade, and foreign direct investment for the benefit of the entire country. It will create thousands of new Irish jobs and generate billions of euros in economic activity.
Works on North Runway are already underway and it is expected that it will be operational in 2021. In tandem with this, daa is seeking to change two of the conditions associated with the grant of planning to ensure that the airport can continue to accommodate existing traffic volumes and facilitate future demand by airline users and Ireland’s island economy.
