Safety At Dublin Airport

Safety At Dublin Airport

Safety is a fundamental priority at Dublin Airport. We are committed to providing a safe environment and safe facilities for passengers, visitors, employees, contractors and all others who work at or use the airport.

Through our management systems, policies and governance arrangements, we seek to identify hazards, manage risks, promote safe working practices and continually improve safety performance across all aspects of airport operations. We encourage a proactive safety culture based on openness, learning and continuous improvement.

Aviation Safety

Dublin Airport operates within a highly regulated aviation environment and maintains a Safety Management System (SMS) to support the safe operation of the airport.

The SMS provides a structured approach to safety management, including hazard identification, risk assessment, occurrence reporting, safety assurance activities and continuous improvement. It supports collaboration between Dublin Airport, airlines, ground handling companies, contractors, service providers and other stakeholders to promote safe operations across the airport community.

We promote a positive safety culture founded on the principles of Just Culture, recognising the importance of reporting, learning and engagement in improving safety outcomes. Airport operations are conducted in accordance with applicable aviation regulatory requirements and are subject to external regulatory oversight and certification.

Occupational Health & Safety

Dublin Airport is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of employees, contractors, visitors and all others who may be affected by our activities.

Our Occupational Health & Safety Management System supports the identification and management of workplace hazards and risks, promotes consultation and participation, and helps ensure that health and safety considerations are integrated into decision-making and daily operations.

Dublin Airport's Occupational Health & Safety Management System is certified to ISO 45001, the internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management systems. This certification provides independent assurance that our safety management arrangements are subject to continual review and improvement.
