Accessibility At The Airport

A non-visible disability can be physical, mental, intellectual, sensory or related to a medical condition, and can be a life-long or temporary issue. At Dublin Airport, we're committed to a high standard that creates a positive and accessible experience for all our passengers.

Non Visible disabilities

The Important Flyer

Passengers who are autistic or have SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) can find the airport environment difficult, especially the security screening process. To help this, Dublin Airport introduced the Important Flyer lanyard to highlight to staff that these passengers may need additional support during the screening process.

Just a few things to note:

  • If you'd like an Important Flyer lanyard, fill out the form here nnd attach a short note from your GP, medical report, or AsIAm card confirming that the Important Flyer has a diagnosis.

  • Fill out an application form for each important flyer.

  • The Important Flyer lanyard is only recognised in Dublin Airport.

  • If you prefer, you can post your application to Dublin Airport, Reduced Mobility Co-ordinator, Level 5, Terminal 1, Dublin Airport, Co Dublin.

If you've any questions, you can get in touch with the Reduced Mobility Co-ordinator, Dublin Airport by emailing prm@daa.ie.

Hidden Disabilities Card - Sunflower

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple way to share that you have a hidden disability. By wearing the Sunflower, you're subtly letting everyone know that you might need extra help, understanding, or just more time.

Dublin Airport has been a proud member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower since 2024, and all of our employees are trained to recognise the Sunflower and support passengers who wear it.

If you'd like to wear a Sunflower ahead of your next journey, have a look at this video on how to apply for one on the PRM Assist App.
