Dublin Airport Supports New Outdoor Space for Donabate Schools
March 27, 2026
Students at St. Patrick’s Boys’ National School and Scoil Phádraic Cailíní in Donabate are marking an exciting new chapter as work begins on transforming their shared outdoor space into a new all‑weather area.
Supported by Dublin Airport’s Elevate’25 School Support Programme, the project will create a safe and accessible surface where children can play, learn and take part in activities throughout the year.
Students gathered to acknowledge the start of the works and the positive difference the upgraded space will bring to daily school life. The new area will support everything from breaktime play to outdoor learning, providing more opportunities for students to be active and engaged throughout the year.
Elevate’25 was a €2 million Dublin Airport initiative delivered as part of the airport’s 85th anniversary, supporting schools in local communities with projects that enhanced learning environments and student wellbeing. Funded initiatives included outdoor classrooms, play areas, sensory spaces and improvements to school facilities.
The Donabate project is one of many being delivered across North Dublin and East Meath, each designed to make a lasting, positive impact for students, teachers and the wider school community.
