The daa community team were excited to lend a hand as Dublin Airport celebrated Girls in Aviation Day with United Airlines, with 27 female students from St. David's, Artane, on a recent 'behind the scenes' tour.

Along with a visit to explore a United Airlines 787-10 aircraft, the second-year students and their teachers were treated to an airfield tour, a visit the Dublin Airport Fire Stations and the Airport Operations Centre.

This opportunity to see and learn about the wide range of careers within the aviation industry allowed the girls to speak first hand to the women who work in these areas including the female United Airlines pilots and staff, and the Dublin Airport varied operations and management team members.

As local students who have grown up and live in the surrounding areas, we hope that this unique experience may encourage them to seek a career in aviation in the future.
