Community Engagement
Over the past five days, Dublin Airport was overjoyed to spread festive cheer across the community with our annual Christmas Roadshow, bringing magical performances to 15 local schools in the surrounding areas.
The Christmas spirit was alive and well as we met more than 5,000 excited students in our festive convoy — featuring Christmas-themed vehicles from the Airport Police and Fire Service, including a Fire Truck, Ambulance, and Airport Police Jeep, along with one of our specially decorated electric Gardening team vehicles and 'Dancing Dubby Cube' — made quite the entrance at each stop.
Each school was treated to a fun-filled, interactive show bursting with music, dancing, and laughter. Our talented Jack Frost and his acrobatic elves, (and of course, Santa!) wowed the crowds with their energy and festive flair and the celebrations were topped off with a special gift for the students and their school principal.
Travelling over 100 kilometres from Kinsealy to Rolestown, through the townlands of Swords, Malahide, and Portmarnock, along with stops in Tyrrelstown, Ballymun, Oldtown and St. Margaret's, our roadshow brought smiles not only to students but also to the many people who waved as our parade convoy passed by. We even made a surprise stop at Terminal 2, where lucky arriving passengers got to experience a little Christmas magic of their own.
This Christmas Roadshow is one of the highlights of the year for the daa community team and the whole community are now fully jumping, flipping, and jingling into Christmas!
