Dublin Airport’s South Runway (10R/28L) is being temporarily withdrawn from service for two nights from Thursday, May 23 to Friday, May 24, 2024 inclusive from 11.00pm to 5.00am to facilitate essential maintenance works.

During the period the South Runway (10R/28L) is closed, the North Runway (10L/28R) will be used for operations.

Due to the low visibility conditions last week, all works could not be completed as planned and two nights this week are required to facilitate essential grassland management works. Grassland maintenance is an essential safety requirement for airport operations and due to the proximity to critical instrument equipment in restricted areas, these works can only take place when the runway is closed.

daa is conscious that runway operations during this essential maintenance period will result in an increase in noise levels for some local residents, and we will endeavour to complete the works safely as quickly as possible in order to minimise impact.

Essential maintenance works and runway operations are subject to weather, and if conditions are not suitable, the works will be rescheduled to take place as soon as possible thereafter.

It is currently anticipated that the next round of essential maintenance works will take place in July 2024.
