Almost 1.8 million passengers used Dublin Airport in October, which was a 5% increase on the same month last year.

Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe grew by 2% with almost 930,000 people travelling to European destinations during the month.

UK traffic recorded a 5% increase with over 642,000 passengers travelling to and from Britain in October.

Transatlantic volumes increased by 13% with more than 160,000 passengers travelling to and from North America during the month.

Other international passenger traffic, which includes flights to the Middle East, increased by 11% with more than 43,000 passengers travelling this route sector in October.

Passenger numbers on domestic flights rose by 19% with more than 6,000 people travelling on domestic routes during the month.

Just over 17.3 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport from January to October this year, a 5% increase over 2012.
