Traffic Management Measures at a Section of St. Margaret’s Bypass

An application has been made to Fingal County Council for permission to operate a single lane shuttle system on a section of St. Margaret’s Bypass, as indicated on the map below. The shuttle system is necessary to facilitate the installation of a replacement water main and service ducts, located under St. Margaret’s Bypass, serving Dunbro Lane. These works will take place between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm on Wednesday, June 7, Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9 2017
Temporary Closure of a Section of St. Margaret’s Bypass
Friday, June 16 to Monday, June 19 2017
An application has been made to Fingal County Council for permission to temporarily close a section of St. Margaret’s Bypass, as indicated on the map below, from 10.00 pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 to 6.00 am on Monday, June 19 2017. The closure is essential in order to enable the construction of a twin drainage culvert, along with other services crossing St. Margaret’s Bypass.
Local access to the western end of Dunbro Lane will be provided at its intersection with the R3132.
We are specifically seeking the temporary closure during this period, following extensive consultation with Fingal County Council’s Planners and Traffic/Operations, in order to limit the impact on road users to the weekend only and to avoid heavier traffic volumes during the working week.
All necessary traffic management measures will be in place to ensure the safety of staff and the public, and to reduce the impact on road users as much as possible.
Unfortunately, because of the type and extent of works involved, it is not possible to undertake both tranches of work simultaneously.
