A record 2.6 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in May, which was a 5% increase over the same month last year.

Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe rose by 4% with almost 1.4 million passengers travelling to European destinations last month.

More than 843,000 passengers travelled to UK destinations in May, which was an increase of 1% compared to last year.

Transatlantic traffic to and from North America increased by 18% with almost 321,000 passengers travelling on this route sector in May.

Other international traffic, principally to the Middle East increased by 3% with over 56,000 passengers travelling these routes during May.

Passenger numbers on domestic routes decreased by 9% with over 8,000 passengers travelling on domestic flights last month.  

So far this year, more than 10.9 million passengers have travelled through Dublin Airport, a 6% increase compared to the first five months of last year.

Dublin Airport has welcomed and additional 640,000 passengers between January and May.

The number of passengers using Dublin Airport as a hub to connect to another destination increased by 51% with 330,000 passengers connecting through Dublin Airport in the year to date.
