Dublin Airport welcomes today’s announcement from Finnair that it is to add an additional frequency to its Dublin – Helsinki route next summer.
Finnair launched its six times weekly service between Dublin and Helsinki in 2015, increasing to nine flights per week in 2016. Today’s announcement means that the airline will operate a 10 times weekly service between the two cities next summer.
Welcoming the announcement, Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison said “I am delighted to see Finnair’s Dublin to Helsinki route go from strength to strength. The new frequency next summer means that Finnair will have increased its overall frequency in Dublin by 66% since it started in 2015.
“The additional service will provide greater choice and flexibility for both business and leisure passengers,” he added.
Finnair’s additional flight will operate every Thursday morning.
More than 16.9 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in the first seven months of the year, representing a 6% increase on the same period last year.
Dublin Airport welcomed 980,000 additional passengers between January and July.
Dublin Airport has direct flights to more than 185 destinations in 41 countries operated by a total of 47 airlines.
